Secret Life Of The American Teenager
The best way to outline ABC’s popular family drama, “Secret Life of the American Teenager” would be the line “This one time…at band camp… I got pregnant!!” This show has gained acclaim among teenagers and young adults. The second season of the show features the escapades of16 year-old high school teenager, Amy Juergens, who gets pregnant when she sleeps with a guy called Ricky Underwood, at a summer band camp.

ABC might be enjoying the all the kudos from the show gaining the highest rating from this show but it did not have much to compete with. The closest being a show about an alien bereft of any bellybutton, the show is called Kyle XY.

But this one hour show does not go down well with everyone who questions the shows content and its degree of maturity. The show’s premise is loosely about Christian girl whose boyfriend cheats on her or Amy’s sister being jealous of her for the attention Amy is getting because of her pregnancy. Lack of intellectual content on television programs like VH1’s Tila-Tequila or Bromance (featuring Brody Jenner) has perhaps made the viewers ignorant and so they all becoming accustomed to watching such dull programs.
Because of so problems people have to face in the real world they try to escape it by watching such shows like “Secret Life of the American Teenager” which makes them forget the harsh reality and allows them to escape into their innermost desires. The show is saddled with poorly written plots and weak characterization.
