The Secret Life Of The American Teenager 2.10 “Knocked Up, Who’s There?” Recap

Submitted on December 15, 2009 No Comment

To summarize, this episode portrays Ben being asked out by a pregnant girl, who chooses to go out with her friend instead. Amy decides to befriend her. Grace feels like notifying everyone about having premature sex. Anne is in bed and George wants the whole family to help. Again, analysing character by character:

The Secret Life Of The American Teenager

Amy is way better in this episode – she actually manages to arouse sympathy because people’s parents never tell them what to do, and if they did, no one would listen. She is appeasing in her transformation at the end of the episode and her conversations with the pregnant girl.

Anne is in for bed rest throughout this episode and everyone makes a huge fuss about the whole thing which is totally uncalled for.

George is not humorous in this instalment – he is dramatic. And while he’s trying to be a father, it’s surprising he thinks he can tell Ashley and Amy what to do. His good-natured side which asks everyone to keep their mom company is pleasing.

Ashley has chances of going out with Mark who seems like a decent fellow. This is further strengthened by the fact that Griffin gets to know Mark.

Griffin is, as always, too overprotective of Ashley, but he’s cool all the same. His talk about being gay with Ben’s mom is simply terrific.

Ben is also great – nice to see him befriend the pregnant girl.

The Secret Life Of The American Teenager

Adrian still hopes to get married to Ricky who simply refuses to see himself tied in the bonds of matrimony. I, personally, feel elated that they separated.

And while Grace keeps preaching about having sex after marriage, it’s not cool that she repeatedly announces the fact that she regrets having had sex with Jack.

Lauren and Madison are both hilarious characters – I simply hope they get a more major role to play in the series. The same would go for Henry and Alice.

Tom and Tanny are perfect – amazingly hilarious – I simply adore the fact that they are so eccentric and enraged perpetually!

All in all, a fantastic episode – completely worthy of a 9 in this case.
