The first season of the Family show, The Secret Life of the American Teenager is one of those rare television shows that appeal to both teenagers and their parents and at the same time leads to discussion among them about some important issues.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager addresses by presenting certain scenarios before the audience thereby drawing them into having discussions on the subject. The latest scenario being a girl called Amy facing teenage pregnancy.

It brings into light certain emotional situations and questions like why did find it so difficult to make her parents aware about her pregnancy? Did Amy contemplate about her education and future? What was the reason behind Amy’s friends’ unusual behavior and how handled them? What was Ricky reaction and what would be Ben’s role in all this? The cast includes: Molly Ringwald of Pretty in Pink fame, who plays the role of Anne Juergens, Amy’s mom; Shailene Woodley plays the part of pregnant Amy; Francia Raisa plays Adrian Lee, the “bad girl” majorette; Ken Baumann plays Ben Boykewich, the boy who is in a relation with Amy; Daren Kagasoff plays Ricky Underwood, the baby’s father and “bad boy” drummer just to mention a few.
